Sponsoring Refugee Families in Afghanistan
Noori Jan's family fled Nijrab to escape family conflicts on land issues and migrated to Kabul. The father of the children was killed by the brother-in-laws. The mother was taken back to her fathers home. This left the children with no one to care for them. Aunt Noori Jan is married and has her own family but took the children in to help care for them. Even though Tooryalai is the main source of income for the siblings, there is not enough money to support them. Zaryalai and Atiquallah are looking after a handicapped person who provides them daily food without any financial income. The seven-year-old sister acts as the mother of the family and tries to ensure that all of the family members are receiving food daily.
