Peter: Virginia, USA -- AAI Intern Summer 2006

I began my professional career as an intern in the summer of 2006, and it was not just another internship. I learned quickly by joining others on collaborative projects and finding tasks around the office to assist others. In doing these things from the beginning, I was able to learn much practical knowledge and develop new skills that I could not at the University...

This internship did provide me with a greater motivation to pursue my present classes, as I can see deeper into the course material. The surface information matters, but forming the necessary mental frameworks and locating trends are vital to an overall understanding of events. I saw development in those skills and one place I am using it is in the classroom. Discussions are livelier now that I can see the deep-rooted issues bringing them to the forefront of the class.

And much to my surprise my growth as a person was regarded as important as the tasks I performed. Mr. Santoli's informational mentoring to the group of us, young professionals, provided daily growth in knowledge and expertise from his extensive experience. This relationship furthered my maturity as a person, as I can see looking back from the beginning of the summer to its conclusion.

Best Regards,
Peter Clark
